Firefox Extensions I Use
Last Updated: 6/20/2009
With all the different browsers out there, I don’t see myself leaving Mozilla Firefox. Sure Google Chrome is pretty, and sure Safari is crazy-fast, but as I said on Facebook the other day: “A browser without extensions feels like coding an application in Notepad.”
Add-ons I use and can’t live without:
AI Roboform Toolbar for Firefox
“Allows the use of Roboform in Firefox.”
“Preview web pages inline in Google Reader, collapse the header and sidebar for more reading area, add favicons to feed subscriptions and more with Better GReader.”
“Delicious Bookmarks is the official Firefox add-on for Delicious, the world’s leading social bookmarking service (formerly del.icio.us). It integrates your bookmarks and tags with Firefox and keeps them in sync for easy, convenient access.”
“View and manage downloads from a tidy statusbar – without the download window getting in the way of your web browsing.”
“This extension provides a toolbar button and context menus to easily add a selection or an entire page to Evernote.”
“Integrate your Facebook life into your browser…”
“Change your bookmark icons! Right-click a bookmark, and select “Properties”, then “Browse” for a new image or paste in a URL.”
“Free Download Manager integration with Firefox browser.”
“These are the gears that power the tubes!
”
“Take the power of Google with you anywhere on the Web”
“Automatically find Greasemonkey scripts on Userscripts.org (requires Greasemonkey)”
“Allows you to customize the way a webpage displays using small bits of JavaScript. …”
“An extension from Taiwan, features: Embedding Internet Explorer in tabs of Mozilla/Firefox…”
“LastPass is a free online password manager and Form Filler that makes your web browsing easier and more secure. …”
“Keeps track of daily routine websites and opens them in tabs…”
“Read It Later allows you to save pages of interest to read later. It eliminates cluttering of bookmarks with sites that are merely of a one-time interest.”
“StumbleUpon discovers web sites based on your interests, learns what you like and brings you more.”
“TwitterFox is a Firefox extension that notifies you of your friends’ status on Twitter.”
“The Firefox extension WordPress Helper helps you working with WordPress by providing useful help and tools.”
“YammerFox puts a small yammer logo in the lower right corner of your Firefox browser. When new messages arrive it pops up a small window with the message.”
Add-ons I use sometimes:
“Ever been annoyed by all those ads and banners on the internet that often take longer to download than everything else on the page? Install Adblock Plus now and get rid of them.”
“Perfect companion and an “unofficial” extension for Google Docs.”
Add-ons I used like like, but don’t anymore and why:
“Adds collapsible header and sidebar, event title text wrap, colored weekend days, week numbers, and skins to Google Calendar.”
“Add useful extra features to Gmail, like hierarchical labels, an unread message icon on your browser tab, file attachment icons, and more.”
“A compilation of some of the best Greasemonkey user scripts for YouTube in one interface.”
“This extension will allow you to easily control cookie permissions.”
“Allows notetaking while browsing.”
“Firebug integrates with Firefox to put a wealth of development tools at your fingertips while you browse.”
“The easy way to download and convert Web videos from hundreds of YouTube-like sites.”
