Now I Know Why Tinfoil-Heads Don’t Like Facebook

Back when MySpace was still a social networking site and not an ad-engine, I started hearing about Facebook–mostly for its privacy issues.  I remember hearing something about how users couldn’t figure out how to delete their accounts–and then, even if they managed to make it through the labyrinth of menus to actually delete, some of their content still remained.

I never cared much about it; if you’re uncomfortable with your information becoming a part of the “cloud”, social networking sites are probably not the place you want to be posting pictures of your kids.  I guess I was pretty ignorant of the whole issue, until the other day when I was buying movie tickets for my wife to go see the new Twilight movie (see really liked the book series).  I still had Facebook open in Firefox, when I opened Fandango to buy her tickets.  After purchasing, I got this pop-up:

Having Facebook and Fandango open in your browser at the same time has some interesting "features".
